Directions to RE/MAX Lakefront

From Wedowee, go Hwy. 431 north approximately 4 miles to office on the left, just before Bartlett's Lakeside Marina.

From Carrollton, take Hwy. 61 to Bowdon, turn left at red light in middle of town and go south on Hwy. 100 (road changes to Hwy. 48 when Alabama state line is crossed).  Continue on Hwy. 48 to Wedowee, turn right at intersection with Hwy. 431 and travel north on Hwy. 431 approximately 4 miles to RE/MAX Lakefront office on the left.

From I-20, take AL Exit #199 (Heflin/Hwy. 9), turn left and go south on AL 9 approximately 7 miles to the intersection of Hwy. 431 and Hwy. 9.  Turn left onto Hwy. 431 and go south approximately 15 miles.  Our office is on the right just past Bartlett's Lakeside Marina.

LAKE WEDOWEE INFORMATION

    Completed in 1982 by Alabama Power, Lake Wedowee is approximately 10,660 acres with about 271 miles of shoreline.  R. L. Harris Dam formed the lake.  It is a beautiful environmental lake that is perfect for swimming, fishing, boating, and skiing.  The lack of congestion of Lake Wedowee provides plenty of space to enjoy and recreation and allows for one to stop and take pleasure in the breathtaking views.

    The Tallapoosa River and the Little Tallapoosa River primarily feed Lake Wedowee, which is located almost completely in Randolph County.  Lake property is found on both rivers.  The two rivers meet just north of Highway 48 Bridge.  From here the river continues about 10 more miles until it reaches the R. L. Harris Dam.

    The full pool level during the summer is 793 feet above mean sea level (MSL).  For the winter, the lake is normally dropped approximately 8 feet.  To the 795-foot mark above MSL is the water storage level, and to the 800-foot mark above MSL is the scenic easement apprehended by Alabama Power.  For information concerning guidelines about shoreline permitting call or write:
